Motorize Your Wildcat

We have developed, manufactured and tested a device that we call THE STORK which motorizes the present Wildcat hammer and tools, so that you can now avoid most of the difficult repetitive manual hammer lifting.

THE STORK easily disassembles so that it and your Wildcat both ride in the trunk of your car.

The hammer is raised by a single loop of 3/8 inch rope over a cathead that is driven by a 12 volt DC electric motor and gearbox connected to your vehicle battery or to another 12 volt battery by a 25 foot long electric cable.

As in manual SPT driving, a pull on the cathead rope raises the hammer until the underside of the anvil is felt; then the operator throws a loop into the rope, allowing the hammer to freely fall.

It only takes a two pound pull on the rope to lift the 35 pound hammer.

Price and Shipping

To use our dynamic cone penetrometer while minimizing the physical exertion of repetitive lifting of the 35 pound hammer, you would need a 12 volt battery (presumably in your vehicle), the P102/01 Wildcat Kit at $2675, a box of 48 - P310/08 lost points at $435, and the P102/03 STORK at $2300. The STORK ships in two cartons, and it has a total weight of approximately 60 pounds.

Here's what's included in THE STORK

The 9 foot tall mast is made of two 4.5 foot long tubular sections that fasten together and fasten into the 2 foot by 2 foot base through telescoping short tube sections.

A 12 volt DC motor, gearbox, and cathead fasten onto the column at a choice of angles so that the cathead directly faces the hammer sheave. Two 20' long, 3/8" ropes are furnished.

The mast fastens to a 2' by 2' angle base having 2 wheels for easy moving.

Power is brought to the unit by a 25' long electrical cable through an on/off switch.
