After leading a well-respected geotechnical engineering firm for many years, J. Fred Triggs, PE decided to develop, manufacture, and sell a soil testing tool he had always wanted but never found… the WILDCAT!
The WILDCAT Dynamic Cone Penetrometer:
- is a cost-effective, highly accurate, difficult access location tool
- can be assembled and operated by one person
- is compact enough to fit in the trunk of a car
- is equipped to reliably log SPT N-values for every 10 cm of tested depth to a depth of 26 ft. (the ISSMGE depth maximum for such a penetrometer)
The WILDCAT has a long history of success and was first exhibited at the 1991 Association of Environmental & Engineering Geologists (AEG) Annual Meeting… See AEG Meeting Report FINAL from that Meeting. Thus began the enthusiastic response with the sale of hundreds of WILDCATS to Geotechnical Engineers and Universities throughout North America and the world.
