WILDCAT Dynamic Cone Penetrometer
The WILDCAT is designed to test soil in difficult access locations:
- steep slopes
- wooded areas
- swamps, ponds, or rivers
- low headroom areas
- congested cities/site congestion
- areas inaccessible to a soil boring rig
- will easily fit in the trunk of your car
- can be operated manually by a single person but a team of two is often used
- can be motorized with our optional STORK hammer lifter
- easily and accurately estimates SPT N-values for every 10 cm of tested depth down to the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) recommended max of 26 ft.

The WILDCAT kit (P102/01) includes*:
1 – 35 pound hammer shell
1 – fluid injection system
1 – pound of polymer slurry **
1 – 0.1 meter end rod
5 – 1.0 meter typical rods
1 – post-popper rod extractor
2 – 24 mm open-end wrenches
1 – wire brush joint cleaner
1 – Wildcat manual with logging software
*One box of 48 expendable Lost Points/cones (P310/08) is also necessary for WILDCAT testing.
** Note – Polymer slurry is essential for accurate results when using the WILDCAT. See more on this in FAQs .
